In the 19th century, an Indian labourer named Velamurgan, upon seeing the Corp de Garde Mountain, had a dream of one day erecting a magnificent temple on its slope. This dream came true by 1907, with a hundred steps leading up to the majestically standing temple. The Kovil is a place of worship to Lord Muruga, the god of war, and has been an extremely popular place of worship ever since its creation.
What is really special about this place, is the amazing panoramic view of the surrounding that one can experience from the Kovil, in total peace and serenity. No wonder this place is so well known for Yoga.
