Heritage Nature Reserve

Extending over several hundred hectares, the Natural Heritage Reserve is to be included in your list if you are looking for a change of scenery and the exotic. The nature reserve is one of the most gripping places on our south-southwest coast. It is also part of the UNESCO Biosphere program and the reason why it figures among the most protected sites on the island is because it inhabits our endemic flora and fauna for example, it is the nesting sites of endemic birds such as the Echo parakeet, Mauritius Kestrel, Pink Pigeon,Cuckoo Shrike, the Olive white eye and Mauritius Fody amongst others.

Take a walk in this green vegetation while hiking or aboard a 4×4 or a quad if you prefer to discover what the reserve hides on your own.
